Trovan
Trovan, an antibiotic which was approved by the FDA in December, 1997, has been
found to cause serious liver injuries in some patients. It has been on the market
since February, 1998. The FDA issued an advisory to physicians that the drug (trovafloxacin/alatrofloxacin),
in both the oral and intravenous formulations, should be used only in the case
of serious life-threatening infections.
